The world out there in policing is not the same way as it was 20-30 years ago.
Things are becoming more violent, more organized, and we have to stay one step ahead.
ERT is an extra level of force that can be brought in to solve a critical situation.
Drop you mag.Come on let's go let's go!!!
As everybody else is running away from the situation, we are normally the guys that are running to the situation.
Our teams are the last resort that a police force has.
Hey honey, are you ok? It's the police.
Episode: March 16 and 19, 2010
Armed stand-offs, hostage situations, major takedowns … these situations call for the specialized skills of the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT). ERT is a group of highly trained RCMP members capable of employing specialized weapons, equipment, and tactics to resolve extremely high-risk situations. For the first time, cameras have been allowed to record some of these tactical procedures and scenarios. From boarding vessels travelling at high speeds in the Pacific Ocean to the rescue of a hostage in a remote part of Manitoba, this is only a glimpse into what ERT does on a daily basis. The obstacles they face are great, but these members are greater.
