GET DOWN, DOWN!

I was frustrated today. Yeah I was definitely frustrated. It’s a real steep learning curve for me to process it.

You know, when you are tasked with protecting the leaders of countries, like United States of America, you have to be capable of putting up with that kind of stress.

We are not just security we are also ambassadors for Canada.

Once they finish this course there is no time to make mistakes after you leave this building.

Episode: April 27 and 30, 2010

When a dignitary visits Canada, their safety and security is the responsibility of the RCMP. The RCMP’s Cpl. Bill Demeau worked security at many major events and is no stranger to the level of threat that can be posed on these international visitors. As lead instructor on the RCMP’s National VIP course, it’s his job to make sure that those trained to provide VIP security are always tuned to potential threats. The training is tough, intense and relentless … it has to be. These Mounties must be prepared for any situation and to put their lives on the line. This training takes candidates to the extremes because in the real world of VIP protection, there are no second chances.
