Miramichi woman dies in collision, Napan, N.B.

On August 16, 2010 at approximately 6:50 pm, the Baie-Saint-Anne RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision in Napan, N.-B.

Two vehicles had collided head-on on Weldfield Collette Road in Napan. Police, the local fire department and paramedic were called to the scene. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 31-year-old woman from Miramichi was pronounced dead at the scene. A 10-year-old boy from the same vehicle was transported to Miramichi Hospital with life threatening injuries and remains in critical condition. The other driver who was driving in the eastbound lane, a 36-year-old woman from Miramichi received minor injuries and was treated in hospital.

An RCMP re-constructionist was on scene investigating the collision. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
