On August 17, 2010 the RCMP in Tracadie-Sheila were called to a car fire at the old military firing range at the Tracadie-Sheila town limits. The fire department arrived quickly to extinguish the blaze. If not for their quick action, the blaze could have turned into a forest fire.
The burned vehicle turned out to be a stolen 2003 Pontiac Bonneville. It had been stolen from the Tracadie-Sheila area a few hours before it was discovered on fire.
The RCMP is asking anyone with information on this crime to contact them at 506-393-3000. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477). If your information leads to an arrest, you may qualify for a cash award of up to $2000.
