On August 18, 2010 Codiac Regional RCMP Street Crime Unit underwent a prostitution operation in the St George Street area in Moncton. Five men were arrested for committing prostitution related offences. The arrests were made on Dufferin, and Highfield Streets in Moncton. Four of the men are from Moncton and one is from Sackville and they are between the ages of 47 and 78. The 47-year-old man from Moncton is also facing a charge of possession of a prohibited weapon as upon his arrest he was in possession of bear spray.
These arrests are part of an on-going effort by Codiac Regional RCMP to curb sex trade activities in our community. All five men are scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court at 9:30 am on September 27, 2010 to answer to charges.
