Removing unsafe vehicles from road focus of upcoming police effort, Campbellton, N.B.

District 9 RCMP in Campbellton are advising local residents that spot vehicle verifications will be taking places in the near future in the area. The goal of this operation will be to ensure that vehicles are well maintained and in a safe working order to ensure the roadways are safe for all motorists.

Motorists driving vehicles which do not meet provincial inspection guidelines, may be subject to charges under the New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Act and/or they could have their vehicles removed from the road via tow trucks. Vehicles which are towed will have to be inspected and meet the set provincial guidelines before being released.

If anyone is in doubt regarding the safety of their vehicle, they should check with a licensed mechanic and/or car dealership.
