RCMP seize 900 marijuana plants, Woodstock, N.B.

2010/8/20

On Thursday August 20, 2010, District 7 RCMP, the Woodstock Police Force, and the RCMP's Coordinated Marihuana Enforcement Team seized approximately 900 marijuana plants from various wooded areas in Western New Brunswick. This number of plants could have potentially produced up to 450,000 joints.

The RCMP and Woodstock Police Force would like to thank the public for their support, and for providing tips about marijuana grow-operations to the police. Marijuana production poses a significant threat to public health and safety, and the public is encouraged to report suspicious behaviour to local police or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

This initiative is part of the RCMP's and the Woodstock Police Force's ongoing commitment to reducing crime and creating safe homes and safe communities. More information about the RCMP in New Brunswick's effort to eradicate marijuana grow-operations is available here.
