On August 23, 2010 Codiac Regional RCMP were called to the theft of a truck in progress on Irving Road in Riverview.
At approximately 3:55 am the owner of a Ford F150 truck was awakened when he heard the sound of his truck starting. When he looked outside he saw a man driving away with his vehicle. 9-1-1 was called and police were provided with a description of the stolen truck and the direction it was travelling. The homeowner also saw two other men acting in a suspicious manner take off in a grey Mazada vehicle.
Minutes later, Codiac Regional RCMP were called to Aaron Court in Riverview where the grey Mazda vehicle, also reported stolen, was found abandoned on a front lawn and two men were seen running away. The stolen pick up truck was found by police a short time later abandoned a couple blocks away on Alyssa Court.
The Codiac police dog searched for suspects and at around 5 am found two suspects hiding in the bushes near Irving Road. Two 18-year-old men from Moncton were arrested without incident and are scheduled to appear in court later today.
The RCMP continue to look for the third male involved in these thefts. If you have any information on these crimes, contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 857-2400 or Crime Stoppers.
The investigation is ongoing.
