On August 20, 2010, District 10 RCMP seized nearly 1900 marijuana plants from sites in Val-Lambert, Drummond, Saint-Léonard, Sainte-Anne, Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Saint-André and other nearby areas. This amount of marijuana could have potentially produced nearly one million joints.
"The RCMP would like to thank the public for their support when it comes to marijuana eradication," says Cpl. Pierre Ayotte. "Many of the seizures we made were the result of tips from the public, and we encourage anyone who notices suspicious activity to call their local police or Crime Stoppers."
This initiative is part of the RCMP's ongoing commitment to reducing crime and creating safe homes and safe communities. More information about the RCMP in New Brunswick's effort to eradicate marijuana grow-operations is available here.
