Every Monday in August, the RCMP New Brunswick Drugs and Organized Crime Awareness Service (DOCAS) will be providing tips for people on the potential dangers of prescription drug abuse.

Prescription drug abuse and youths - There is a disturbing trend among young people who are experimenting with drugs found in their own medicine cabinets. Youths curious and open to experimentation are taking unused medications thinking that because they were prescribed by a doctor they are safe. The truth is that the health risks are huge anytime someone takes a drug that was not prescribed for them. Return unused portions of prescribed drugs to the pharmacy and talk to your kids about the potential dangers of prescription drugs. To learn more about prescription drug abuse click here.
