Sentenced for conspiracy to commit arson, Moncton, N.B.

On January 12, 2010 in Moncton Provincial Court, Joshua Barber, a 31 year old man from Hamilton, Ontario was sentenced to 3 years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit arson. The investigation led by the Codiac Regional RCMP’s Major Crime Unit stemmed from a residential fire in a home on Lester Street in Moncton in March 2008.

On March 10, 2008 at around 2 am the Moncton Fire Department had responded to a residential fire where a 42 year old man had suffered serious burns.

Joshua Barber received a 3 year prison sentence and is prohibited from owning any firearms, ammunition and explosives for the next 10 years. He was also ordered to supply a DNA sample.
