A 45-year-old man has been sentenced to two years in jail after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an investigation into images of child sexual abuse.
The investigation began in June, 2019, as a result of information received from the RCMP's National Child Exploitation Crime Centre. On August 8, 2019, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Lincoln. Police seized several electronic devices and a 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
James Robert Strowbridge was charged with making available child pornography, possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography. He was sentenced in Fredericton Provincial Court on October 21, 2020.
James Robert Strowbridge has been added to the National Sex Offender Registry for life, and will be required to submit a DNA sample. Following his release from jail, he will have to abide by conditions set out by the court, including not being around children.
The RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation Unit includes members of the Saint John and Kennebecasis Regional Police Forces. The RCMP's Integrated Technological Crime Unit in New Brunswick and the RCMP National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre were also involved in this investigation.
