The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit's investigation into the homicide of Trevor Guillen (32) of Grande Prairie on April 25, 2020, has resulted in an arrest and charge.

On Oct. 22, 2020, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Telford Randall Howe (39) for the charge of manslaughter.

On Oct. 23, 2020, Telford Randall Howe was taken into custody and following judicial hearings, his bail was not spoken to and he is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court via CCTV on Nov. 16, 2020.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.

Telford Randall Howe (39) was arrested on his outstanding warrant this morning as a result of a tip received by the public.

He remains in police custody and was previously charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, commit an indicated offence while disguised, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public from an incident on April 16, 2020 in Whitecourt, Alta.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate the homicide and are asking anyone with information in relation to the incident from April 25, 2020, that occurred in the area of 106 Avenue and 102 Street in Grande Prairie, to contact Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-831-2340, or your local police.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes investigate suspicious death in Grande Prairie - Update

An autopsy was completed yesterday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton and the death of the 32-year-old male victim has been deemed a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit continues to look for a person of interest in relation to this investigation who is currently wanted on a separate matter: Telford Randall Howe, who is alleged to have been involved with an incident in Whitecourt, Alta., on April 16, 2020, that resulted in charges is still at large.

Police are asking anyone who knows Telford Howe's whereabouts, or has information about this incident, to contact Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-831-2340, or your local police. The public are cautioned not to approach Howe as he is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes investigate suspicious death in Grande Prairie

On April 25, 2020, at approximately 12 a.m. Grande Prairie RCMP responded to the area of 106 Avenue and 102 Street to assist EMS with an injured male who was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The male was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes has taken carriage of the investigation.

The autopsy of the 32-year-old male victim from Grande Prairie is scheduled for later this week at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.

Grande Prairie RCMP investigate police incident

In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 25, Grande Prairie RCMP responded to an incident near 106 Avenue and 102 Street.

Police remain on scene and continue to investigate the situation. There are no concerns for public safety at this time.
