Annapolis District RCMP lays several charges after mischief incident

Annapolis District RCMP has laid several charges following an incident on June 17 in the community of Lequille. At 6:53 p.m. that day, police responded to a call of a man riding a three-wheeled ATV in another person's yard, causing damage. The victim captured part of the incident on video.

Following a brief investigation, the RCMP arrested a 59-year-old man from Lequille, under the Criminal Code, for Mischief. In addition, four charges under the Nova Scotia Off Highway Vehicles Act are being laid:

  • Operating an Off Highway Vehicle Without a Valid Licence
  • Operating an Off Highway Vehicle Without Displaying Identification Number
  • Operating an Off Highway Vehicle Without a Permit
  • Failing to Wear a Helmet as Required

The accused was held in custody overnight and was released the following day on conditions to have no contact with the victim or be at his residence. He is scheduled to attend Digby Provincial Court on August 21.

The investigation is ongoing.
