Burin Peninsula RCMP executes search warrant at a residence in Marystown and seizes a quantity of cocaine, cash, prescription medications and other items consistent with drug trafficking on August 26, 2020.

Following a search warrant executed at a residence in Marystown on August 26, 2020, Burin Peninsula RCMP charged 31-year-old Philip Reid and 21-year-old Alana Drover, both from Marystown, with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Police searched a vehicle, as well as a home on Janie's Place, and found a quantity cocaine, cash and prescription medications. Those items, along with cell phones and other drug paraphernalia, consistent with drug trafficking, were seized.

The two individuals attended court on August 27, 2020. Drover was released on a number of court ordered conditions while Reid remains in custody and will make a court appearance again on Monday for the purposes of a bail hearing. Both are charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession for the purposes of trafficking another controlled substance and conspiracy to commit trafficking.
