One man has died following a helicopter crash yesterday at Thorburn Lake and two others are in serious condition.
At approximately 3:45 p.m. on July 20, 2020, Clarenville RCMP responded to the report of a downed helicopter. The Clarenville Fire Department and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre also responded. The Robinson R44 light utility helicopter, carrying three men, crashed on the land near Thorburn Lake.
A 69-year-old Gambo man died at the scene and two others, a 68-year-old man from Aquaforte and a 54-year-old man from St. John's, were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Today, the Transportation Safety Board is on the scene and the investigation is continuing.
