Former Eastern Health employee charged with stealing narcotics and altering documents while working

A former employee of Eastern Heath, 51-year-old Charmaine Hudson of Salmon Cove, is charged with theft of narcotics, along with charges of fraud and forgery, stemming from an investigation conducted by Harbour Grace RCMP.

On July 9, 2020, Harbour Grace RCMP received a report from Eastern Health indicating that the Licensed Practical Nurse stole narcotics from Carbonear General Hospital and altered hospital records involving the narcotics between September 2019 to May 15, 2020.

Harbour Grace RCMP conducted a criminal investigation which resulted in Hudson being arrested on October 10, 2020. She is charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Fraud Under $5000
  • Forgery
  • Using a forged document
  • Falsifying documents

Hudson is scheduled to appear in Harbour Grace Provincial Court on December 2, 2020.
