On September 13, 2020 at approximately 11:30 PM Gjoa Haven RCMP received a report of an incident that occurred in an open area of the community. An unknown male suspect approached an adult female who was walking alone. The suspect sexually assaulted the women by grabbing her. She was not physically harmed in the incident and the suspect fled.
The suspect is described as Inuit, approximately 5'8"-5'9" in height and was last seen wearing blue hood over his head a black jacket with a white or reflective stripe on the side.
