Harbour Breton RCMP is investigating a fire of aquaculture lump fish hides (imitation kelp) that occurred on August 13, 2020.

On August 14, 2020, Harbour Breton RCMP received a report of the fire that occurred on the parking lot of the Pools Cove garbage dump, where the netting was stored. Some of the lump fish hides were wet from being removed from the water earlier in the day and with rainfall, police believe the fire to be suspicious in nature.

The investigation is continuing.
