The body of 19-year-old Gwyneth Gegenfurtner was recovered earlier today from the Churchill River located near Leaf Rapids.
The RCMP would like to thank the family, friends, numerous volunteers and band members from the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation and the O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation who attended and provided assistance during this difficult search.
On October 12, 2020, at approximately 5:35 pm, Leaf Rapids RCMP received a report of a missing 19-year-old female, from the community.
Gwyneth Gegenfurtner, was last seen on October 11, 2020, in the area of Mikinak Bay, in Leaf Rapids.
She is 5'6", approximately 140 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Police and family are concerned for her well-being.
