Man charged after making threats and shooting a lawn tractor

Colchester District RCMP charge a 33-year-old man from Tatamagouche following a threats complaint yesterday.

At 7:20 p.m., Colchester District RCMP responded to a threats complaint in Tatamagouche. The investigation determined that two men known to each other got into a confrontation. The suspect attended the victim's home, fired multiple shots at a lawn tractor and then threatened the victim prior to leaving. No one was physically injured during the incident.

Police located the suspect leaving the area in his vehicle and he was arrested without incident. A search of the suspect's vehicle located a shotgun, marihuana, cannabis and liquor. A subsequent search of a home was conducted and police seized 11 firearms including three handguns, 19 knives and a large quantity of ammunition.

Ian Carl Frederick Langille is charged with Careless Use of a Firearm, Uttering Threats and Mischief. He was remanded into custody and appeared in Truro Provincial Court today.
