Man charged for trafficking drugs

Meteghan RCMP and The Yarmouth/Clare Street Crime Enforcement Unit charged a 54-year-old man from Meteghan Centre following the search of a home on June 17.

As part of an investigation into drug trafficking, police arrested a man during a traffic stop and subsequently searched a home on Hwy. 1 in Meteghan Centre. The search resulted in the seizure of cocaine, scales, knives and cash.

Trebor Stevens Atwood, 54, of Meteghan Centre is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court today.
