On October 23, members of the Halifax District RCMP and the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal's Vehicle Transportation Inspection Division participated in a joint enforcement operation. Checkpoints were set up in Sheet Harbour at Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 224, and Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 374. Over 150 vehicles were checked for compliance during the two-hour operation, which resulted in:
- Three drivers charged with Operating Vehicle Without Valid Inspection Sticker
- Two drivers charged with Operating Unregistered Vehicle
- One driver charged with Failing to Stop at Stop Sign
- One driver charged with Operating Vehicle Without Registration
- Two vehicles towed
- Three re-inspection orders issued
- 9 written warnings
- 24 verbal warnings
