The Northwest Territories RCMP and Fort Simpson RCMP are reminding vehicle owners to always lock their vehicles and to never leave keys inside.

This reminder comes after three vehicles were allegedly stolen in Fort Simpson between October 12th and 13th. All vehicles have been located and investigations are ongoing.

In each incident, the vehicles were unlocked and keys were located inside.

As a reminder, the RCMP want to share these safety tips:

  • Always lock your vehicle when it is left unattended and activate the vehicle's alarm.

  • Make sure you remove valuables from your vehicle or hide them.

  • If you don't have a garage, park your vehicle in a well-lit area.

Anyone with information on suspicious activity is asked to call Fort Simpson RCMP at 695-1111, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or text: "nwtnutips" plus your message to 274637.
