News release

Officers also issued a 7 day license suspension to a driver who had been drinking. Three vehicles were towed as a result of the check stop.

Police wish to remind the motoring public to ensure their vehicles are fully registered, inspected and insured and that their driver's license is current and valid.

And, especially as the holiday weekend approaches, a reminder to all drivers that impaired driving is not tolerated. If your celebrations include drugs or alcohol, you have opted out of driving. Never get behind the wheel if you have been consuming drugs or alcohol and make a plan to get home.

Call a friend, call a taxi or simply stay put.
