December 2, 2020
Western Valley Region, New Brunswick

News release

The Western Valley Region RCMP is asking seasonal property owners to make sure their properties are secured following a series of break, enter and thefts in the Western Valley region.

Over the last couple of weeks, police have received over 10 reports of break, enter and thefts into seasonal homes, camps, cottages and travel trailers in the Western Valley region.

"You should always make sure your seasonal property is properly secured and valuables are removed from plain sight before leaving the home unattended", said Cpl. Mathieu Gauthier with the Western Valley Region RCMP. "We also encourage anyone to report suspicious activity, regardless where it's spotted including remote areas".

The incidents occurred during the day and night and in most cases force was used to gain entry into the unoccupied properties.

If you live in the Western Valley region or surrounding areas and had your property broken into, or if you have any information regarding these incidents, you are asked to call the Western Valley Region RCMP detachment at 506-325-3000. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can provide anonymous and secure tips by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca
