RCMP emergency and general inquiry phone lines

What number do you call when you have a police emergency in Nunavut? Nunavut RCMP want to make sure you call the right number. Please remember, there are two different phone lines for all RCMP Detachments across the Territory. First, is the general phone line with your local prefix XXX-0123. The second is the emergency line with your local prefix XXX-1111.

When there is an emergency and immediate Police assistance is, required 1111 is the number to call. This is the equivalent to calling 911. This number calls into our V Division Telecommunications Centre who have a fully trained professional staff available to answer your call 24 hours a day to assist you and dispatch police at any time day or night.

When you call, you will be asked some questions to help determine your emergency, please stay on the line. Your information is important to ensure our officer's have accurate information for the safety of all involved.

For general inquiries or administration duties such as criminal record checks or fingerprinting, the number to call is 0123 during regular business hours. This includes non-emergency complaints or follow-ups.
