RCMP investigating theft of more than 20 chainsaws

The West District RCMP is investigating a break, enter and theft in Hanwell, N.B., that resulted in the theft of more than 20 chainsaws.

The break and enter occurred at a business on Route 640 in Hanwell during the late evening hours of October 19, and early morning hours of October 20, 2020. An individual gained entry to the building and stole over twenty chainsaws including:

  • Husqvarna 550XP chainsaws
  • Husqvarna 372XP chainsaws
  • Stihl MS 880 chainsaw with a four-foot blade
  • orange Arbortec gear bag

The RCMP is releasing a video surveillance image of a person of interest and asking the public's assistance to help identify the individual. The individual is described as wearing a jacket and a ballcap.

Anyone who recognizes the person of interest, or who has information on the whereabouts of the stolen items, is asked to contact the Keswick RCMP detachment at 506-575-6200.
