RCMP on scene of fatal collision

. At approximately 3:46 a.m. this morning, Antigonish RCMP were called to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 4 near East Havre Boucher.

The RCMP, Fire and EHS attended the scene and found a pickup truck went off the roadway and incurred extensive damage. The driver, a 23-year-old man from Antigonish was ejected and located a short distance from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. EHS transported an adult male passenger to hospital with undetermined injury.

A collision re-constructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Highway 4 remains closed in both directions and is expected to remain so until later this afternoon.

Our thoughts are with the victim's family at this difficult time.
