Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Services in the North District completed a busy weekend project from September 17-20, 2020.

Officers conducted road safety education and enforcement initiatives in La Loche, Buffalo Narrows, Ile-a-La-Crosse, Turnor Lake and Beauval. The initiatives focused on impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving, and occupant restraints.

As a result of the road safety initiatives, officers issued 124 tickets primarily under the Traffic Safety Act and Vehicle Equipment Regulations and 85 warnings under the Traffic Safety Act and Vehicle Equipment Regulations. In addition, two drivers were arrested for Impaired Driving under the Criminal Code, one driver was charged for Driving While Prohibited under the Criminal Code and one vehicle was impounded.

Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Services will continue to work diligently to keep our roads and communities safe. We need the public's help to achieve this goal by encouraging anyone who witnesses impaired driving or aggressive driving to report it to their local police service immediately, or by calling 911.

Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Services would like to thank motorists for their support and important role in reporting dangerous driving to police.
