Two men attempt to lure youth into a truck in Bishop’s Falls; Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP warns public

Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP is warning the public following an incident on September 17, 2020, in Bishop's Falls where two men attempted to lure a youth inside a truck.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., police received the report of the incident that happened around 5:00 p.m. on Main Street. A truck, with two male occupants, slowed down and approached the young girl. The passenger rolled down his window, asked the girl for her name and asked her to get into the truck, stating that he had something for her. The child did not give her name and did not get into the vehicle. The truck continued down Main Street.

The vehicle is described as an older model truck, grey or silver in color, with a dent and rusting on the passenger side door. The man who spoke to the youth is described as having brownish colored hair.

RCMP NL asks parents to talk to their children to educate them on the importance of never accepting a ride with a stranger.

The investigation is continuing.
