Wanted man Jason Hepditch is taken into custody by Police Service Dog Kaos in Whitbourne

RCMP Police Service Dog Kaos.

Forty-five-year-old Jason Hepditch, who was wanted by Clarenville RCMP, was arrested on October 5, 2020, by police in Whitbourne.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. an officer observed Hepditch walking along the Trans-Canada Highway near Whitbourne. As police approached, Hepditch took off into a wooded area on foot. RCMP officers with Whitbourne and Placentia Detachments, along with Traffic Services, Police Dog Services and the General Investigation Section set up a perimeter and searched the area. Hepditch was located by Police Service Dog Kaos and was taken into custody without further incident.

He remains in custody at this time and will attend court to answer to a number of outstanding charges and an additional charge for flight from police stemming from this incident.
