Bay St. George RCMP investigates robbery, woman charged and warrant issued for man

UPDATE: Donald (Donnie) King has turned himself in to Bay St. George RCMP.

Bay St. George RCMP is investigating a robbery that happened on April 25, 2021. Thirty-seven-year-old Leann Colson of Stephenville was arrested and a warrant for the arrest of the co-accused, 38-year-old Donald (Donnie) King of Mattis Point, has been issued.

At approximately 1:40 a.m. on Sunday morning, Bay St. George RCMP received the report that an individual was assaulted and robbed by two people while walking down Main Street in Stephenville. A number of personal items were stolen and the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.

Bay St. George General Investigation Section assisted in the investigation that led to the arrest of Colson On April 30, 2021. She attended court and is charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm and breach of a probation order. Colson was remanded into custody and will appear in court again on May 6, 2021.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 38-year-old Donald (Donnie) King of Mattis Point. He is charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm.

This incident appears to be a random act as Colson and King are not known to the victim. Police are asking the public to report any sightings of King and to not approach him.
