Bonavista RCMP investigates intentional damage to a parked car in Bonavista and seeks public’s assistance

Bonavista RCMP is investigating intentional damage to a car that was parked at a property in Bonavista on December 2, 2021, and is seeking assistance from the public.

On Friday afternoon, police received the report. A car that was parked at a local garage on Marine Drive had all of its windows broken or damaged. Surveillance footage shows that the incident occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. on December 2, 2021. A suspect, traveling in a dark colored van or crossover-style vehicle, was dropped off at the property. The individual walked directly to the vehicle, carrying a large object, believed to be a crow bar, and used it to damage the glass on the vehicle. The suspect then ran away on foot from the property.

The suspect is described as being a young man, possibly in his 20s, wearing pants having grey reflectors around the bottoms of the legs. Police ask residents to check for any available surveillance footage of the suspect or the dark-colored van/crossover-style vehicle, in the area of Marine Drive at approximately 8:00 p.m. on December 2, 2021.
