Harbour Grace RCMP responds to report of erratic driver; man refuses to provide breath sample

A 40-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving by Harbour Grace RCMP on November 30, 2021, following numerous reports of an erratic driver.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m., police received several reports of a vehicle that was driving in an erratic manner. Officers patrolled, located the described vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver showed signs of alcohol impairment and failed a roadside breath test. He was arrested and was transported back to the detachment to provide further breath samples but refused to do so.

He was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample. The man's driver's licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
