Harbour Grace RCMP responds to single-vehicle crash and arrests impaired driver in Victoria

This truck was seized and impounded as part of an impaired driving investigation after it crashed on Swansea Road in Victoria on July 24, 2021.

A 49-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving by Harbour Grace RCMP on July 24, 2021, following an investigation into a single-vehicle crash in Victoria.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, police received the report of a crash on Swansea Road. Upon arrival, officers observed a truck in the ditch. The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, exited the truck and spoke to police. He showed signs of alcohol impairment, was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit. He was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving. His driver's licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
