Impaired driver more than three times the legal limit arrested following community complaints

The Kings District RCMP has arrested an impaired driver following complaints from the public in Murray River, PEI.

On December 29, 2021 at approximately 6:50 p.m., members of the Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in the community of Murray River. Police located the vehicle and stopped the 63-year-old driver.

The man displayed signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene. The man was brought to the Montague RCMP detachment for further testing, which confirmed his alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit. He was issued a 90-day provincial driving prohibition and was later released pending a future court appearance on February 2, 2022.
