Forty-three-year-old Michael Efford of Bay Roberts has been convicted of flight from police and dangerous driving stemming from an incident that occurred in Spaniards Bay in April of 2021.
On April 13, 2021, Efford was speeding while operating a side by side all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on Route 70. He failed to stop for police and continued to drive in a dangerous manner, forcing other motorists off the roadway to avoid collisions.
On December 6, 2021, Efford was convicted of the two criminal code offences. His sentence includes a two-year Canada-wide driving prohibition and an 18-month probation order.
Thinking about fleeing from police during a traffic stop? It is always best to simply pull over.
