News release

The RNC-RCMP Integrated Internet Child Exploitation Team (IICE) has arrested and charged 24-year-old Kaleb Bowering of Mount Pearl with online child exploitation offences.

Kaleb Bowering was arrested on July 6 and subsequently charged with Transmission of Child Pornography and Accessing Child Pornography. Both charges stem from a police investigation which began after authorities were alerted to the online transmission of child pornography in February of 2020. A search warrant was executed at Bowering's residence in October of 2020. Subsequent police investigation unearthed evidence of online child exploitation activities, supporting the two charges laid.

Bowering was released on multiple conditions and will appear at Provincial Court in St. John's on August 10,2021.
