Natuashish man pleas guilty to second degree murder

Thirty-three-year-old Etienne Jacobish of Natuashish has pled guilty to a charge of second degree murder in relation to the death of a man that occurred in Natuashish on January 3, 2021.

An injured man, who had been shot, was found on a roadway in the community and died later that day. The investigation, which led to the charge against Jacobish, involved RCMP officers from the Major Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Services, Happy Valley-Goose Bay General Investigation Section and Natuashish Detachment.

On December 7, 2021, Jacobish entered a guilty plea. He remains in custody and is set to attend court on February 16, 2022, to receive his sentence.
