Natuashish RCMP responds to tip from public and arrests impaired driver

A 32-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving by Natuashish RCMP on June 6, 2021, following a tip from the public.

Just before 11:00 p.m., police received the report of a suspected impaired driver. A short time later, officers located the described vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, who showed signs of alcohol impairment, had an expired driver's licence and was operating an unregistered vehicle. He was arrested for impaired driving and was transported back to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit. The man was later released from police custody and is scheduled to attend court on August 24, 2021 in Natuashish. His licence was suspended.
