Police charge three people from Lunenburg County with drug trafficking

The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit has charged three people after an investigation into cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking in Lunenburg and Queens Counties.

On December 7, 2021 at 10:28 a.m., as part of a cocaine trafficking investigation, police stopped a vehicle and arrested three people without incident in Liverpool. During a search of the vehicle, police seized cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, cell phones and cash.

Later that day, police executed a search warrant at a home on Hwy. 3, in Middlewood. During the search, police seized a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, cash, and cell phones.

Jason Ashley Dalby, 44, of Middlewood, has been charged with six counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Dalby was held in custody overnight and appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court yesterday. He was remanded into custody and will return to Bridgewater Provincial Court on December 14, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.

Kala Shianne Swinimer, 32, of Gold River, has been charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and one count of Failing to Comply with Conditions. Swinimer was held in custody overnight and appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court yesterday. She was released on conditions, including house arrest, and will return to Bridgewater Provincial Court on January 19, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.

Andrea Joan Pennell, 32, of Gold River, has been charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Pennell was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on February 9, 2022 and 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is continuing and has been assisted by the Criminal Intelligence Service of Nova Scotia, Lunenburg District RCMP and Queen District RCMP.
