RCMP asking for public’s help following home invasion

The Northeast District RCMP is asking for the public's help to further a home invasion investigation in Alcida, a community near Beresford, N.B.

On April 22, at approximately 5 a.m., members of the Chaleur Region RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion on Chemin Laplante. An individual armed with a weapon entered the home, assaulted the lone occupant and fled the scene. At the time, the suspect was wearing camouflage clothing and a balaclava. It is unclear if the individual left on foot or by vehicle. Nothing was stolen during the incident.

The homeowner was transported to hospital and was later released.

Anyone who may have information about the home invasion, or who may have seen suspicious activity on Chemin Laplante between 10 p.m., on April 21 , and 8 a.m., on April 22 is asked to contact the Chaleur Region RCMP at 506-548-7771. The investigation is ongoing.
