RCMP Northwest Traffic Services issued 84 Summary Offence Tickets over three days at the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border.
In November, police received a complaint of motorists entering Nova Scotia at a high rate of speed when approaching the provincial border checkstop. This posed an elevated risk to personnel working at the border checkstop and RCMP Northwest Traffic Services were deployed to the area.
Between November 30 and December 2, police conducted speed enforcement efforts in the area. This resulted in 84 Summary Offence Tickets being issued for offences related to excessive speeds.
The Nova Scotia RCMP would like to remind motorists to slow down and obey signage upon their approach to the border checkstop. This will ensure the safety of both border personnel and the motoring public.
