News release

Twenty-four-year-old Colton Head of Labrador City was charged with possession of child pornography on November 16, 2021, by the RCMP-RNC Integrated Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

The investigation began in February of 2020, when police received the initial information of the online transmission of child pornography. A search warrant was executed by police at Head's residence in November of 2020, where electronic equipment was seized for further analysis.

The investigation led to the arrest of Colton Head earlier this month. Guided by arrest and release procedures, Head was released from custody on a number of conditions designed to protect youth and the general public. He is charged with possession of child pornography and further charges of online child exploitation related offences are anticipated. The investigation is continuing.

Head's first appearance is scheduled for January 18, 2022, in Wabush Provincial Court.
