Update: The 37-year-old man who was wanted in connection to a suspicious death investigation in Allendale has been arrested in the area without incident. Police would like to thank the public for their assistance. The investigation continues.

The New Brunswick RCMP is asking for the public's help to locate a 37-year-old man wanted in connection to a suspicious death investigation.

The Kingsclear First Nation man was last seen on a dirt road in a wooded area in Allendale. Anyone who sees him is asked not to approach him and to call 911 immediately.

On September 13, 2021, at approximately 8:45 p.m., members of the West District RCMP received a report of a shooting incident on a dirt road in a wooded area in Allendale. A 40-year-old man was located deceased at the scene. The victim's name is not being released at this time. Police believe this is an isolated incident.

The New Brunswick RCMP is increasing patrols in the Nackawic, Allendale and Kingsclear First Nation areas as the search and investigation continues. Residents may notice an increased police presence, including specialized services such as RCMP Air Services, Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Services and others. People are asked to avoid the area to allow police to work.

The RCMP in New Brunswick is always ready to issue an Alert Ready message should there be a need, or if there is an immediate risk to public safety. At this time, this incident does not require an Alert Ready message.
