RCMP seize firearms, drugs and money; two people arrested

The West District RCMP has arrested a woman and a man, and seized firearms, drugs, and money as part of an ongoing drug investigation in Beardsley, N.B.

On December 17, 2021, shortly after 6 a.m., police executed a search warrant at a residence on Beardsley Road as part of a drug investigation. A 32-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man from the community were arrested at the scene.

During the search, police seized significant quantities of what is believed to be methamphetamine. Police also seized three firearms, ammunition, other prohibited weapons, money and three BB guns.

The 32-year-old woman was released from custody, and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The 33-year-old man, Frederik Samuel Richard, appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court on December 17 and was charged with:

  • possession of a prohibited weapon
  • unsafe storage of firearms
  • unlawful possession of firearms

He was released on conditions and is scheduled to return to court on January 6, 2022.

This investigation was the result of an operation by the West District RCMP with assistance from the Provincial Crime Reduction Unit, which includes police officers from the New Brunswick RCMP, Woodstock Police Force and Fredericton Police Force. These efforts focus on disrupting and dismantling the trafficking of illegal drugs in our province, targeting those causing the most harm in our communities.
