Snowmobile collision results in fatality

On Thursday, February 18th, at approximately 10:30 pm, Queens district RCMP, North River Fire Department and Island EMS attended to a snowmobile collision on the "Kingston" trail approximately two kilometers north of the Kingston Road.

The driver of the snowmobile, a 23 year-old Churchill man, had been out snowmobiling with friends when the collision occurred. He was transported to the QEH where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the collision.

The RCMP continues to investigate the cause of the collision and extends condolences to family and friends of the young man.
