On July 24, 2021, at approximately 4:55 pm, Thompson RCMP received a report of a stabbing inside a business on Mystery Lake Road in Thompson, Manitoba. When officers arrived, they located a 12-year-old male victim with multiple physical injuries who was being given medical assistance by several people who had been on scene when the assault occurred. The youth was transported to local hospital in stable condition. He was then transferred to Winnipeg hospital. The weapon was seized on scene.
Initial investigation determined a 13-year-old male chased the 12-year-old into the business. A fight began and during the altercation, the 12-year-old was stabbed by the 13-year-old and then the 13-year-old fled. Officers continue to look for him. There is a warrant out for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault.
The investigation continues.
