On January 10, 2021, Mayo Detachment RCMP responded to a report of an injured 38-year old man at the Health Center. The 38-year-old male victim who's identity is being withheld out of respect for the family, was declared deceased shortly after police arrival.
Later that day, a 22-year-old man was arrested by Mayo RCMP. Daniel Cashaback-Myra, from Mayo has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder, s.235(1) of the Criminal Code, and will appear in Territorial Court in Whitehorse on January 27, 2021 at 0930hrs.
The police investigation is being led by the Yukon RCMP Major Crime Unit, with support by multiple Yukon RCMP Detachments/Units, and the Yukon Office of the Chief Coroner.
